#Gabon: English to Pre-Primary and Primary program soon

 

 

Libreville, the National Pedagogical Institute (IPN) in partnership with British Council, organized from September 8 to 12 in Libreville, an inter-conference workshop focusing on the capacity of teachers of English in pre-primary schools.

The National Pedagogical Institute (IPN), in partnership with the British Council, a UK agency for cultural relations and educational exchanges, recently organized an inter Libreville seminar-workshop to train trainers of English called "Hornby Shool"

Thirty-six (36) participants from eight (8) countries in West Africa, including Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Togo, Cameroon and Cote d'Ivoire and Gabon, who took part in the meeting.

The main objective of "Hornby Schools" is to provide the academic supervisors of tools and skills to enable them to develop an educational program of English in pre-primary and primary classes, produce relevant textbooks for different levels of training and gradually address the issue of learning that language.

According to organizers, 20 teacher trainers (trainers) who pray Gabonese part in this training, Hornby Schools, will now provide training for primary school teachers, with a view to introduce the English language in the pilot schools in nine provinces of Gabon .

The realization of the vision of the Head of State of Gabon to the Gabon Emergent countries by 2025, through its three pillars of the Green Gabon, Industrial Gabon and Gabon services, said -on, also requires the mastery of the English language, and its method of introduction to the Pre-primary and primary levels.
