#Gabon: Gabon-Morocco: two agreements in the energy sector


 

 

Partnerships to mark exchanges between Moroccan businessmen and Gabon operating in the sector of electricity and energy renewables were ratified in Libreville.


After Burkina Faso, a delegation of Moroccan businessmen has settled in Libreville on September 24 to better assess current business opportunities offered by the country in the field of electricity and renewable energy. "We are here today to bring more Moroccan PME in the electricity sector in Gabon and promote the concept of South-South partnership based on sharing, expertise and optimization of value chains," acknowledged , from the outset, the head of Morocco export, Zahra Maafiri.

250 operators two countries were present at the industry forum called "light action" with the aim of diversifying models already existing partnership between the two countries. The first agreement between the Board of Trade of Gabon and Morocco export, the other between the Group companies and water works and electricity Gabon (Getec) and Fenelec. Following these agreements, all parties agree, in accordance with legal standards in their respective countries, to work for the promotion of trade and the development of trade relations between companies and Moroccan and Gabonese economic organizations. Jean Baptise Bikalou, president of Chamber of Commerce Gabon, these partnership agreements are intended to set the course of an active and winning cooperation. In our current framework that invites us to create channels for exchange and investment promotion between businessmen of the two countries on either coast, "he said.

Morocco is 98.5% electrified. "This is thanks to a delicate use of fossil fuels and renewable energy," boasts Morocco export. Through this action, the Morocco aims to become the figurehead of South-South cooperation.
